As we all know Master P's last album 'Only God Can Judge Me' wasn't his best efforts, but he's set to make up for it in 2000. No, he isn't dropping another lp, but make no mistake, Master P will be making his mark as he releases a number of promising film and TV projects. His first venture will be a film called 'One Nation' which is an updated 2000 version of the classic novel 'The Spook Who Sat By the Door'. For those who aren't familiar, this novel by author Devon Williams captured a lot of people's imaginations when it first came out in the '70s. It told a tale of a CIA Agent who endured a lot of hardships when he became one of the first African Americans to break into the ranks. This agent 'played the role' and soaked up as much 'game' as he could before leaving the agency. He then took his government training and taught folks within the Black community how to use them in an attempt to liberate themselves from the oppressive racism we were experiencing at the time. Thus far not all the roles have been casted. However, the lead role of the CIA Agent will be played by actor Clifton Powell who was featured in the movie 'Dead Presidents'. He also played the role of Martin Luther King in the MLK story. Master P has another project which has already been completed and is currently in review by MTV. Entitled 'Camp P', Lavar Burton [Roots] directed it and it will star Sticky Fingaz of the group Onyx. It's a 13 week series about a Juvenile Boot camper. It will feature an array of new actors and actresses from mixed backgrounds. Look for that to drop within the first half of 2000. The third major project Master P has coming down the pipe, is a TV show for UPN called Bounty Huntaz. It will be directed by Brett Ratner who is the man behind films like 'Rush Hour' and 'Money Talks'. The twist on this cops and robbers type flick is that it will have a Hip Hop perspective. In other words, when the bounty hunters go undercover to track down suspects they will be dwelling within the Hip Hop world. Hence, you will see a lot of cameos from popular artists as well as Hip Hop related themes. The series will hit the air in March 2000. Now at this point, folks are probably wondering whether or not Master P himself, will be starring in any of these projects. The answer is 'No'. He's taking a back seat and allowing the folks run his No Limit Films company to do the work. P role has been to help bring together all the key players. He is however, hard at work trying to perfect his acting skills. Apparently he must be doing a good job because come summer of 2000 Master P will be starring in a 90 million dollar flick alongside actor Nicholas Cage. Entitled 'Gone In 60 Seconds' this movie about car thieves is a remake of the 1970s picture of the same name. P will play opposite Cage and be his nemesis.
